International campaign to free our Pakistani comrades on 30 July! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ First World Congress of the Revolutionary Communist International This week, we have a special bulletin concentrating on the most important event of the year: The first World Congress of the Revolutionary Communist International! On 2-7 August, around 360 comrades will gather in Italy to discuss and debate perspectives and tasks for our International. All the political documents for the Congress are collected in a special pamphlet which is attached to this email. Comrades should make sure to read these documents in advance of the meeting. Included in this pamphlet are the World Perspectives IEC draft, which will be voted on in the World Perspectives session, and the amendments to the IEC WP draft submitted by sections. We also include a number of documents from the Brazilian section. The Brazilian comrades have raised a number of differences with the International, which are summarised in the Contribution by the Brazilian IEC members to the IEC debate on 4 June 2025. The IS responded to this contribution, included under the title IS reply to Brazilian IEC members’ contribution. Last week the IS received a request by six out of the nine Brazilian delegates, to present an alternative document to the IEC World Perspectives draft. This document is included under the title A new world situation has opened up: The Yalta and Potsdam order is over — Alternative to world perspectives submitted by six Brazilian delegates. All comrades attending the congress in person or online should make sure they read these documents beforehand. We also include in the pamphlet The Degeneration and Collapse of the Fourth International — In Defence of our Heritage, which is a document to help comrades prepare for the discussion on the Fourth International on the third day. Finally, we include Selected organisational documents of the RCI and the 2018 Finance resolution, which are full of excellent lessons for how comrades can build the organisation where they are active. For those unable to attend in person, we strongly encourage you to follow the discussions closely online; every session will be streamed with Spanish translation provided. If you want to follow the proceedings and don’t know how, get in touch with the leadership of your section or group and they will help you to do so, either at a watch party or by following the stream individually at home. You can see what time it is in CEST here. https://www.timeanddate.com/time/zones/cest The sessions are as follows: - World Perspectives: Where comrades will discuss and debate the understanding of the general development of the world situation. - Film screening of ‘The Communists Are Coming’: The premiere of a brand-new documentary charting the year-long preparation for launching the RCI. - The Collapse of the Fourth International: Session discussing the reasons for the degeneration of the Fourth International. - Financial collection: A session where we will raise money to fund the building of the RCI. All comrades should make sure they have money ready to be donated at this session. We will provide instructions for comrades watching at home to donate. - Revolutionary finance: Here, comrades will get a picture as to how the International is developing financially as well as tips on how we can raise money. - USA: Communism in the ‘belly of the beast’: Our section in the US has developed at an extraordinary rate. Hear how they have achieved this as well as getting a more detailed picture as to the real political situation in the country. - Building the revolutionary International: In this session, comrades will get a picture as to how the International is developing as a whole, with comrades reporting on the development of their sections and groups as well as giving great organisational tips comrades can learn from and apply in their own work. - “Free our comrades!”: Gilgit-Baltistan solidarity campaign report: Our Pakistani comrades and other leading comrades of the International will report on how the campaign to free our comrades is going and what is planned for the future. *** International campaign to free our Pakistani comrades on 30 July! On 30 July, we will hold an international day of action at Pakistani embassies, high commissions and consulates to put the maximum possible pressure on the generals in Islamabad to release arrested leaders of the AAC-GB. Already, our work is having an effect. Half of the detained AAC-GB leaders have been granted bail. One was released after members of his community staged a 30-hour protest that shut down the highway! This small reprieve would not have been possible without the courageous struggle in Gilgit-Baltistan, and across Pakistan, combined with our international campaign. But the fight is far from over. The bailed leaders have not been acquitted, and eight AAC-GB leaders, including Ehsan Ali, are still in captivity. This is why we have stepped up the campaign. Nuestro trabajo ya está dando sus frutos. La mitad de los líderes de la AAC-GB detenidos han obtenido la libertad bajo fianza. Uno de ellos fue liberado después de que miembros de su comunidad organizaran una protesta de 30 horas que bloqueó la autopista. Este pequeño respiro no habría sido posible sin la valiente lucha en Gilgit-Baltistán y en todo Pakistán, combinada con nuestra campaña internacional. Pero la lucha está lejos de haber terminado. Los líderes que han obtenido la libertad bajo fianza no han sido absueltos, y ocho líderes de la AAC-GB, entre ellos Ehsan Ali, siguen detenidos. Por eso hemos intensificado la campaña. También contaremos con una comisión especial sobre la campaña en el Congreso Mundial.
